Being introduced to the game at the age 7 by his grandfather, Alex showed a keen interest for all things golf. After playing many sports growing up, Alex decided that golf was the sport he wanted to seriously pursue and just after turning 18 he enrolled in the PGA Professional training program.
Over the course of the last 17 years Alex has engrossed himself in playing and coaching this game as well as caddying for his wife on and off for the last 10 years on the Ladies European Tour.
The last 7-8 years has been an important period in Alex’s coaching journey. Coaching his wife, Johanna Wrigley, on the LET helped Alex tremendously in understanding how the best players in the world operate and truly learning what is important for all golfers to help them perform at their best. Alex coaches many other professionals on various tours around Europe as well as keen amateur golfers just trying to get a little more out of their game.
Alex has caddied in many tournaments all over the world on the Ladies European Tour including 7 major championships and often brags that he was only fired from his wife a handful of times.
From a playing perspective, as with all professional golfers, his dream was always to make it onto the DP World and PGA Tour. Unfortunately this dream was never realised with 2023 being his last attempt at DP World Q School. Over his playing career he has won many pro-ams and professional events as well as winning on the satellite tour The Nordic Golf League. His greatest playing achievement is qualifying for the 150th Open at St Andrews in 2022, teeing it up alongside many of his golfing heroes.
