Description
Building on the success of the Ping s159, the s259 delivers even better precision through refined grinds, more loft options and a tour-inspired profile. The face has precision milled, wheel-cut MicroMax grooves that vary depending on the loft: the lower lofts (46-52°) have greater groove volume for control on full shots, while the higher lofts (54-62°) have tighter spacing for maximum spin around the green.
Ping has also updated several grinds to match more playing styles. The E grind has a more natural look at address but maintains its strength in sand and open shots. The T grind has a steeper trailing edge that makes it easier to lay the blade low on open shots. The W grind is now also available in 50° and 52°, perfect for players with a steep attack angle who need a lower loft in this format.
Each loft is designed for a specific role: low loft provides straighter leading edge and lower CG for better transition to the iron set, the mid-loft has a full-length bottom groove for better half-stroke control and the high loft has extra offset and less hosel for confidence in creative shots.
The head is investment cast in 8620 carbon steel with a larger elastomer insert for improved feel.
Precision Milled, Wheel-turned grooves in the S259 wedges ensure a high level of spin on shots from all distances and in all conditions, even in wet weather.
New Dylawedge grip, The newly developed grip is specially developed with wedges and is slightly longer than a standard grip, perfect when you need to grip down on the club. The grip also has clear reference points for different types of strokes and distances.
Grind Options, The Ping s259 is available with six different grind options and a total of 25 different loft/grind options. There is something for all types of players to choose from.
