Mizuno MP-20 MMC is the second generation of Mizuno’s multi-material concept, which has now been refined and, among other things, has been given a thinner topline and copper plating for a better feel. An iron aimed at the better player looking for slightly more forgiving properties than a pure blade.
MMC (Multi Material Concept) is based on the chassis and the proportions from the blade model MB but with a slightly larger club head. Just as with MP-20 MB, MMC is forged in one whole piece in soft 1025E carbon steel with Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forged process to create a fantastically soft feel at impact. The feel has been additionally reinforced through a copper-plated club head and finally a layer of chrome nickel which gives a visually appealing finish. The MMC cavity holds a titanium weight which is a lighter material that has allowed Mizuno to place tungsten weights in the toe (in I4-I7) for more stability and forgiving properties. Compared to its predecessor, Mizuno has made the topline 0.3-0.4 mm thinner to give it a more stylish appearance at address.
